Perfect Hackintosh – Leopard Server 10.5.4 | Unlock iphone 4.

by jenny on January 8, 2012

(Yet Another) Perfect hackintosh with Leopard Server 10.5.4. The story is very short: I was a little bored with my Desktop Hackintosh 10.5.4 and I’ve decided to go pro, so I’ve upgraded the cat to a real leopard. Well, enough talk… Here are the specs: Pentium Dual Core E2180 OC’ed (GREAT and CHEAP processor) Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L 4Gb DDR2 800 Kingston N5 NVidia XFX GeForce 8500GT HDD, etc… not so important Price for a complete machine – 1000 reais, or 600 dollars (or much less if you’re on USA or another country) The method: —Desktop— 1- Installed Leo4All V2, cat’ed a Codec Dump on ubuntu, used Taruga HDA Patcher, EFI Strings for the GPU. (Your mileage may vary) 2- When everything was looking good, including the DVI/VGA order, which I had to do a little Hex job, I proceeded to 10.5.4 update, doing a “while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done” in the terminal to make sure this kext is wiped during the update. Also, did a nano -w /System/InstallAtStartup/Scripts/1 and edited the kextload “Don’t Steal Mac OS X.kext” to dsmos.kext —Upgrade to Server— The Upgrade to Server was simple, I’ve installed the Server.mpkg from Leo Server install DVD, then rebooted, inserted the serial, then downloaded the 10.5.4 combo update and I did the same thing for Desktop step 2… Voilá! Have Phun! Oh, almost forgot our tradition, writing a little manifesto, we got lots of positive feedback from our hackintosh/iphone manifesto (see

Great video. Do you have a brief document about setting up DNS, FW and iChat?

Of course no IT department is required – it’s a *nix system!

You may want to watch Apple’s online tuturiols on the features in Mac OS X server, such as DNS, LDAP, User account management etc. But if all you need to do is share a few files, Tiger or Leopard desktop can more then handle the job.

is there any advantage to set up Leopard Sever if you just want to create a file server for a few clients? Can’t regular Leopard serve just as well in that case?

lol…you dont know what you are talking about right?…but you feel like bashing other people pcs…well there are benchmarking software on the mac and we use them to check the performance of our machine and we consistently beat similar systems by 30%, (why we get better videocards the rest of the specs is pretty even). There is no difference between the hardware used in mac and pcs nowadays and you can use the stock drivers of apple for most of your stuff just by editing the efi strings.

on my 4th hackintosh myself, reason i do them is because I like building my own pcs, apple doesnt let you do that so I just make a hackintosh. Love choosing my own parts, get a case i like (not only one case for all I want to be different) assemble them and install all the osx.

Hey can u stream live or make an internet radio using this leopard server? I heard that quicktime streaming server and quicktime broadcaster which are included in the Leopard server can make this possible, but I’m not sure about this; also if this works, I’d like to know if u can embed a code into a Myspace page (profile 2.0)…Thanks

I have a Jas 10.5.4 server now, this runs better than an intel imac. Graphics have never been an issue on any hackintosh setup for me, in fact graphics are better. I built one of these for a friend that does video editing for a living, so far no complain.
